Roy you wouldn't have as much fun if I didn't make the trip & you wouldn't have anybody to help drink your beer.

It looks real good so far Roy.  I really like the horn.  I like the different colors in them.

Trapper Rob shot his BBO yesterday for the first time. Shoots real nice, very quiet. I sent him home with a bottle of tung oil to finish it up.

Just got finished putting the stain on it here. I get nervous when Robbie puts on rubber gloves:)

Is that the one with the flipped tips from a few weeks ago?  Wish I could get the tips on mine to have that profile cuz they look great that way.  Nice work!

Yes it is, flipping the tips is easy. My first post has a picture of a tip clamped down on a little form, just add heat and clamp till cool.

Got the horn tip over lays sanded down today, what a pain that was:) I see the camera was not set to close up pictures, sigh:) So these pictures don't show their real beauty. I'll try again later.. Gotta cook Momma dinner, being retired isn't all it's cracked up to be. LMAO:)

I agree with Razorbak; that teardrop shape looks super.  Gonna try flipping the tips with heat after I practice with the heat gun some more.  First time I used one was a total disaster.

Those tips look cool Roy!

I do have a question though...
Is there a pretty good risk of the boo splintering up where it's tapered and there isn't any horn over it?

Or is it pretty safe to have it like that since the tips aren't supposed to flex anyway?

Thanks!

Yup.. But boo is a funny material, it will set ya back on your A$$ in a hurry, Or make ya smile.

Robbie, I cook her supper 5 nights a week, sometimes 6 or 7.. But I love to cook and grill out. When we go camping, I do all the cooken.

Cut the string grooves in tonight, floor tiller tells me there is more weight than I want, and that is a good thing at this point. String time tomorrow..

Here is your crooked stave, Robbie. After about 5 heat treatments.. Might do one or two more on it. It's close but not perfect yet..

And we went fishen tonight:)
