Brent,
Congratulations on your move to the west, you will find you have more types of game to hunt, just don't know if Arizona would have been my first pick.  Even residents have to draw to be able to hunt in that state, other then that, it has some great areas.  Also, that skiing thing is highly overrated (I live in the largest ski area in the US), for me it’s much more fun to chase critters through the snow in the mountains then to slide down them and hurt myself.  :scared:
Oh ya, plan a yearly trip back east, you are going to miss whitetail hunting.  Those little things that pass for whitetail in AZ are about the size of a August fawn where your at now, they say they are ten time harder to hunt, and you only get one tag for them each year.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Hey hormoan, too bad you can't make it for this weekends Traditional Archers of AZ spring shoot. Yea, you heard me, it's spring time here. You can go snow skiing or water skiing with only a 100 mile drive. 100 miles is a short drive out here.
Sounds like you guys have a lot of false info on AZ hunting. I draw an elk tag 4 out of 5 years. AZ has some of the best trophy big game animals in the country, check the record books.
You can buy a deer, bear, lion and turkey tag over the counter.
Come on out to Granite Mt. Archers range in Prescott when you get here. We have a good group of traditional shooters.

One underwear pic and the folks in Michigan are making you leave???  Good luck with the move Brent...was looking forward to seeing you again at Compton.  Almost took a job in Mesa some years ago but chickened out....was there in July and it was way to hot for me.

Brent, I'm complating the move also. The wind and cold just might budge me from Wyoming. I have a sister in Prescott so that might be my first choice also. CS, Chortdraw and the rest of the brothern might get a new member one of these days.

I have heard those little desert deer are quite
a challenge.

One of the few places on earth, where you can stand in 100 degree heat, and look at snow capped mountains.

Best of luck...

P.S., I bet you will miss those crisp Michigan mornings "come November".

Brent,

I just heard! I truley hope things go well for you.
Wish I'd have gotten that project we talked about to you sooner. Don't want to ship it now as I am sure you are too busy with everything else.
Anyway, good luck and all that!

This sounds like a change you're looking forward to, so I'm sure you'll really enjoy it. You know, Brent, there's a lot of good obsidian in Arizona...  Something to feed your new addiction.      :wavey:

Sooo......ya gave up the cold north woods for resident javi, mule deer, elk hunting?   Sounds like you will not miss the snow.  I have family in the area, so I will give you a yell when I get back to the area!!!  Sounds like a great move!!

But now it is just Hunt It, myself and Dorothy driving to the Sweat next year.  :scared:

I think there are more Trad shooters in the Prescott area than any one other area in the state. The kid (now all grown up)I grew up with,  moved there years back and likes the area more than the Flagstaff area.  My sister lives in Paulden/Chino Valley (just outside of Prescott), there is a super guy that makes beautiful longbows. Mike or Grizz as we call him has a great shop to hang out in at his ranch. The weather there in Prescott can't be beat.
