HICKERY

I have alway used osage  on my bows BAMBOO JATABA CORE   THE OSAGE WAS 0.150. CAN I USE HICKERY ON THE BELLY INSTEAD OF OSAGE WITH  THE SAME THICKNESS. WILL HICKERY WORK  BUCK

Hickory is way less strong in compression than osage. Some will say yes but I woud not use hickory as a belly lam for a boo backed bow. Hickory, on the other hand makes a great backing and , IMO, is more durable than boo, just not as sexy.
