Krystal over snake skin?
« on: September 05, 2013, 07:06:00 PM »
Wondered if anybody has done this or do I need to use tung oil? Hate mixing two different finishes on the same bow. Thanks

No problem with Krystal. I have done it a bunch. 3 heavy coats. Make sure all scales are gone first. Bob Morrison skins more bows than anyone and he uses Krystal. If you are using a light colored skin like copperhead be sure to paint the limb off white first or it may darken the skins too much.

Thanks Dan, that's what I was hoping. I'll give it a try and let you know how it worked.

I did Krystal and had a bad experience. The finished flaked off after awhile. I did some research and use only true oil or Thunderbird.
