Once the riser was fit it is time to move on to the stripe.

I forgot to take pics before the glue up. What I did was cut out 1"x1"x2" square blocks. I then cut white and black phenolic 1"x2". This is what I ended up with. The block are Koa and walnut .

I glued everything together with smooth - on.  So into the oven for along wait.

So after the stripe is set it's time cut out some strips. The strips got sanded down to 0.050. I then sanded down white phenolic. It got sanded to about 0.035. The next thing to do is mix up more glue and put everything together.

Ready to go back into the oven.

That is awesome! A fine chunk of Koa too. The mosaic stripe really distinguishes the Flare. Looks a little like a Blacktial , but without the CNC.This is gonna be a sweet bow! I always struggled with robosanders. You have made pattern sanding look easy.

Thanks Dan I was trying to set each piece of wood off with the stripe. I thought the mosaic would be a nice touch. Wasn't really trying to make it look like a blacktail. I hope it turns out how I have it pictured. Can't hardly wait to cut the limb veneers.

As far as CNC goes this is about as fancy as I get. Time to put in the shelf.

There is only one thing bad about doing it this away. It can make petty big mess.
