I've seen them on bows. How do they work compared to leather.

Well, I like them. I think a nice leather grip adds a touch of class to a lot of bows, but as far as all around function goes, rubber grips work for me. I've got bows with both, and the only gripe I have with the rubber shur-grip is the number and severity of blisters I got out of rolling it up over the take-down latches on a Bear 3-piece...LOL!

I put them on all my bows, down here in Texas it's so hot during the first part of the season your hands will sweat so bad you can hardly keep a bow in them. The rubber grips really help a lot. I just went down to the Wal-Mart and bought an inner tube for a BMX bike, you can make several grips for about $5.00.

The tire tube works great. If not carefull they will make you tork the bow more easily.

I use tennis racket wrap sometimes.
Curtis,...A piece of 1/4 inch rope under the rubber will help you work the rubber shur-grip on a larger riser.

I think leather looks better but the rubber is very functional.

I have them on all my bows. I found they are especially helpful in wintertime when I'm wearing wool gloves.
I always trim mine as small as possible after getting it wrestled into place. Just score the grip all the way around with a razor blade and tear off the excess.

Some leather grips are slippery down south with heat and humidity, love the one blackwidow , 3 rivers , and the Nocking point sell..

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to try one. I have a new bow coming in June and would like to be use to it by then.

I use innertube for a Mountain bike-26 x 2.125. Use a little soap and water to get it on and just wipe dry.
