Awesome! I love koa. I had a recurve made with koa cut offs I brought back from Kaual. With phenolic in the riser for strength, it is a looker as well. Good job!

Earlier in the thread I had made a mistake about the finish.  That is the finish that Big jim sells its the buffalo hide finish.

Brad I sent that to jim he did it for me.  close to 20 coats.  yes he wet sanded between and eventually down 2000 grit, then buffed.

wow, I was just looking for pics of Koa as I am getting a Zipper Nitro with curly koa limbs. your bow is georgous! great work. I love seeing bows that others make. I am always drawn to bows with unique wood with great character.  yours ranks right up there !
