New Trails End Medicine Point
« on: March 01, 2008, 11:21:00 AM »
I just recieved my Dale Dye.  Almost a two year wait, but that is how the game is.  Dale make one of the prettiest bows around.  I told Dale I wanted Ebony and Bocote, then left the rest up to him.  It turn out wonderful and I could not ask for more.

I have been shooting some high performance recurves (Morrison and Borders)and heard that the Dye were not smokers.  But I am very surprised at how well this bow shoots.  It will fling an arrow pretty good.  At 27 yards it is only hitting a 3 or 4 inches lower then my other bows.

Ebony Medicine Point (lace and blood wood) and Bocote center strip.
Limbs are Medicine wood stained to match the ebony.
FF limb tips with red phonlic and lace wood.

58"  59# @ 27"

CONGRATULATIONS!!!  I think you just joined an elite club of people who have a Morrison, Border and Dye.

That sure is one sweet looking bow.  I love those Pierce Points!

Awesome bow!!! Held the second Trails End bow today and it's a good thing it was right handed or my checking aco**** would be drained. Love the grips on those bows!

WOW!!!!!
Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

Thank you everyone!!!  I got to shoot somemore yesterday.  Move the nock point around a little and got some Beaman MFX 400 with 250 grain points, that are cut to 27.5" shooting really nice.  I like when I don't have to buy new arrows for a new bow HAHA..  The grip is very comfortable and fits my hand very well.  Dale build the grip from a outline of my hand, he hit it perfect.  The bow is very quiet with just a set of catwiskers.  I have to get some wool yarn to put on the string at the curves and then it will be silent.  I also need to build a new string for the bow which I am sure will help on the performance some, but the bow is not lacking in this department.

This will be the last Bow I have shipped here for awhile.  I am now being charge import tax on everything I bring in here, so the raise the price of everything for me by 21% of sell and shipping price OUCH.  It would be less money to ship 3 bows to my mother in the US and buy a plane ticket to pick them up.

My collection is just about done.  I still would like to add a Robertson and a Shafer.

So far I have these keepers.

2 Morrison Cheyenne
1 Border Black Douglas
1 Dale Dye Trails End
1 Big East  (in storeage in the US)
2 Fedora Take Downs  (in storeage in the US)

Had one very similar, unfortunately I sold it to Blue Monday on this site. If it ever goes up for sale I'll grab it back immediately. They are awesome bows.
