Titebond 3 V Smooth-on epoxy

Hello--I am new to trad gang,  nice site!
I have made 25 bows, (stave bows) osage,Hickory,Hackberry,  and  some hickory backed osage boards using Titebond 3.
I going to make some tri lams.
My question is Glue V smoot-on
how much of a difference (performance) is there??
pros and cons ???

Since your not using glass the smooth on isn't necessary.
Trouble with TB is that it is not a gap filling glue.. Requires flat smooth surfaces.
My choice is unibond 800 very good with any wood and is gap filling.
It is a two part glue. A liquid and a powdered component.

X 2 for unibond.  Gives you a very strong bond and fills gaps nicely.

I use Smooth On, but have used Urac 185 (Unibond). I quit buying Unibond because Smooth On will do anything Unibond will do and more. Either way, I've always prepped the surfaces with my thickness sander which has 40 grit paper on it. If I back with bamboo, I use a toothing plane on the boo, so it has a rough gluing surface as well.

One benefit of using Smooth On is that it can endure heat corrections post glue-up.

I don't use Titebond much nowadays.

I use TBIII for tri-lams and it works fine, but as mentioned you better have really good fit or you're in trouble. I'm used to it at this point so it's nto too big a deal, but I mainly use if for the ease of cleanup. Most of my glue-ups are in the kitchen. Also it's basically odorless which means I dont get in trouble.
