Anyone used it? Pluses and minuses? How does it compare to Thunderbird or Crystal? I'm looking to get a finish other than the rattle cans

According to this thread...
http://tradgang.com/noncgi/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=125;t=010813
...it's the same thing as Thunderbird lacquer/polyurethane. That's what I use, and I'm quite pleased with it. It dries quickly on oily woods and becomes nice and durable after 6 hours when it turns into a polyurethane.

Thought this stuff was 2 part epoxy with a thinner. Mine came with part a and part b and a thinner.

Well A + B and thinner... Equals an epoxy finish.

Thanks for the responses guys, how do you apply it? I don't have a spray system, Is that necessary for a nice finish? If it is, will a cheaply harbor freight gun do it ?

I use a Preval sprayer. I've seen them at some Home Depots.

Big Jim's is an epoxy and there is no way it's going though a prevel sprayer. It's thick and very high quality stuff.
If you have access to a compressor just get a cheap touch up gun from an auto store, I get mine from Napa or Harbor Freight.

I use big Jim's finish and I spray it through my pre-val sprayer I get from Home Depot.
And it works very well.
