How do I fix this?

Had this happen today after an accidental dry fire        I'm fortunate this was the worst thing that happened. These underlays were put on my bow by BW to help with a tip that already had glass lifting when I bought the bow. I talked to John today and he said since this underlay was not the one covering the original damaged tip that I could try to glue it myself or send it in. I'm thinking about trying myself but me being stupid I forgot to ask him how they would even do that. I'm thinking maybe some 420 and small clamps? Should I try to sand old glue first? need some input. Thanks guys

If there is old glue residue I'd suggest sanding it.
Dry fit to see if lays good and flat.

Glue.
A good CA glue will work. But Smooth On would be more bullet proof. Smooth on would need a heat source like a light bulb close.
Spring clamps or padded c clamps.

Anything that I could get at perhaps home depot? Just checked on the smooth on at 3rivers, 35.00 plus 8 shipping kinda steep    :(

Go to your local hobby store, or some hardware stores will carry it as well, and get some good CA glue such as Hot stuff or Bob Smith.  Get the very thin stuff made for small gaps.  Sand off the old glue residue and clamp it tight to check for a flush fit.  If it fits nice and smooth clamp it tight and run the thin CA glue along all sides of the fix, you'll see it wick in.  When it stops wicking in that's enough.  Make sure you don't get any on your clamp or it will be stuck and hard to remove.  Sand to finish and put a little spray on it to seal the fix and sanding marks.

That's the easiest and a good fix, CA glue.

That piece probably would have never lifted if it had been feathered in and not stopped so abruptly with that bevel on the end of it.

With that said, I'd probably fix with CA as mentioned ... that is if you don't wanna buy smooth-on

The only stuff I found at the hardware store is gorilla super glue impact resistant. I researched and it said it was a CA glue. Will this work?

I've heard of guys using it on overlays.

This needs to go back to Black Widow for a repair or replacement.  For good reasons no warranty is valid after someone starts gluing and rasping on a bow.

7 Lakes normally I'd agree 100%. In this case the BW rep. Suggested he could do the repair.which means it isn't under warranty or won't effect it.

Warranty is out of the question bought this bow used and its also 13 years old anyways. Glued it up last night and shot a couple time today it started to lift again just slightly right at where the string grooves start. I threw some more glue down in there and clamped it again. We'll see what happens. Worst case scenario is it comes completely off then goes back to BW for a new underlay.
