Hickory Self Bow Question

Hey guys, I wanted to get your expert opinions.  I have a hickory flat bow kit from Pine Hollow Longbows that I have been working on. The back of the bow came smoothed down to one ring but one of the limb tips looks rougher than the rest of the back.
 
Do you think it would be OK to sand down the rough portion or should I trim it off.  If I trim both limb tips equally the bow will end up 65" long.  
This is my first attempt at making a bow so any help is greatly appreciated.

If it was mine I would taper sand it and place my tip overlays on to keep it the same. As long as there is no cross checks. Cut it off if your draw length allows.

I would leave it as is. I don't see any ring violations. A little extra stave length will help you get a bow. Jawge

That will not cause a problem.  The bow does not bend there.  Just shape your tip to make it pleasing to your eye.

Take your time,especially when tillering it...which is the most important step and hardest thing to the learning curve for a beginner
