I have this book and I do not thing you will regret buying it. It goes from Stone Age to modern glass bows, mostly bows and arrows of natural materials though.
It covers history, wood spacies, cutting and storing wood. Glues, finishes, string making, flint knapping and a lot of stuff. Lots of pictures and illustrations. 9 different authors are contributing to this book. Bue--.

Along with what Bue said, It has a lot of historical data on bows from grave sites in Europe. It has build alongs for replication of a few ancient bow styles. It also has a small section on glass bow construction.
