I think John forgot something on that first shot:

A little bend in the elbow and a clean release helps. (As does moving your armguard over to your right arm.)

Bow shot pretty sweet for me though.
Yeah, that wasn't one of my finest moments.  And Dave laughed his arse off at me hopping around in pain.  You can see where the string hopped down my arm striking it in 3 places.  A few days later, my arm had some nice shades of purple, brown, and green.

Fujimo,  What kind of saddles do you make?

Sounds like you will have one great building when it's done.

hey Scott.
i build a solid wade style ranch saddle mostly- a good strong saddle that will hold a 2000# bull. but also do some kids saddles, aussie stock saddles(and a  polo crosse type saddle), and a roping aussie stock saddle - with a wade style post.
was wanting to do an association type tree with a better ranch style post on it- but havent got it finished either. i have always preferred the swells on the assoc. as apposed to a slick fork- and if they are not too hooked- dont worry the dallies any, and wont hang up a rider either on a pitchy bronc.
was working on  a skirted dressage saddle and a skirted jumping saddle before i immigrated- need to get back on that project. those english saddles have such a poor fit generally IMHO, and the western skirted style of fit is way better.

Been laying laminate and vinyl flooring in the house. This is the laminate flooring in the living room about 1/3 done. Really nice material I think..

Vinyl in the bathroom, almost completed.

Just took this picture through the glass patio door, 10 deer helping themselves to some corn. Very healthy looking deer...

Roy, it looks like you're about to be over run with those nasty critters! I ought to come down there and remove a few for you. Just as a favor, you understand, nobody eats those things!

Old floor is black walnut, it's 19 years old. Just got tired of refinishing it. No on the deer, don't really feel like killing them anymore.

Nice job, Roy. Doesn't leave too much time for bow making, does it?

Thats a bunch of deer Roy ... they are looking pretty healthy though. Coats look good.

Actually it's funny cause back in NY theres a TON of acorns, and I've been thinking all year that the SQUIRRELS look very very healthy, perfect clean coats, good size. I don't shoot them but I like to see them really healthy like that. Same with the deer.

Nice flooring BTW. I like the choice for the living room very much. Good luck, go easy on your back while you're crawling on the floor. Seriously.

Lol, I only said that cause even at the relatively young age of 28, most of my joints are pretty beat up .... With at least one lumber disc in poor shape too ....

I visited the "Serpent Mound" near my hunting spot by Locust Grove, Ohio. The museum and gift shop was closed so I didn't get a T shirt for Mr Roy..

Too late now, BENNY BOY..    :)

But you are correct, I have been doing this flooring for like 4 days now. And at 66.5 years old, I am sore as hell. But everyday I seem to get better and better... I have 100 trips down the steps and out to the bow shop to cut and sand, then again and again. Just like making bows, you can always take more wood off, but once ya take off too much, you are screwed... Trouble is, the logs on the walls and the supporting log posts just aren't like 2x4"s. More like real trees, LMAO. But it's coming along real fine so far. Living room and entrance hall are 2/3rds done.

Looks very good.

I'm still impressed with how your house feels like a comfy log cabin in the middle of the woods inside. (A person could never tell from the outside.)
