Yeah, I'll bet fitting around those posts are a real treat.  Looking real good so far.  I just finished up a hall way, two flights of steps, 3 landings and a foyer floor for my daughter.  I know what you mean about "sore as hell"!, and I'm only 63 and a half.  I don't know if I would want to tackle a whole house.  Good job!!!

awesome video Roy- are those all her cubs??

i went for a hunt this morning, walking down the trail to my spot, and came across a pair of fawns- out of their spots, but only this springs fawns , i stepped off the trail , and started to call- hoping there was a buck with their mama in the area.
no movement, so obviously these little fellas were on their own, so i thought i would try and scoot around them. well they were not afraid, and wouldnt move away, they wouldnt let me closer than about 6', so i herded them down the trail to a fork ahead,  at the fork, i squatted down, and the one turned and walked closer to me again. so i kinda wrangled them down the one fork, and went down the other, to my spot.

i went out again this evening, in a different area, got settled in, called a few times, was sitting there really quietly, when a big brown bird about the size of a pidgeon, flew in and sat right on my head!!!
i could feel its claws/nails through my asat mesh veil and hair, sticking into my scalp.the first thought through my mind was that it was going to take a dump on my head.
but  after a good minute or two, it flew off, unperturbed, to another tree, leaving me unsullied!
i managed to call a deer in after that, but it came in behind me, other side my hemlock and salal brush thicket i was backed into- so i could hear it just 20' away- but never laid eyes on it!!
on my way out at last light, i heard a ruckus down in the creek- thought it was a deer crossing the creek, nocked an arrow and settled my racing heart, after a little while  i realised  there was no deer, and on closer examination saw that it was spawning salmon in the creek!

never drew the bow once- but had one of my most awesome days hunting ever!   :)    :)    :)

You know you're doing it right when a bird will perch on you! It's a cool feeling.

Cool video Roy. Didn't know a sow could have three cubs. I thought two was typical. Thats extra cool.

went out to one of my favorite spots today- some nice old growth forest.
this was one of the spots that i sat and called at- right behind this windblown rootwad

called in a fat doe- but she wouldnt stand still- very nervous. and called in a buck, who snuck right up behind me, i heard the faintest footfall, when i turned around on my little tripod chair, all i saw was two huge brown eyes a black nose and some big antlers, maybe  10' away, when i tried to turn around, hoping he was rut crazed and would stay, he just melted away into the forest,
i had sat there for over an hour, and had only called three times in that hour- and he homed right in on me!!
amazing critters
anyway found a nice clean  straight windblown yew- i will have to go back and fetch later!

just love the old growth

Both are western red cedars, the one on my left is alive, and the one on my right is a snag.
Pretty good size, but have seen them on occasion at least  half as big again, here on island!
