Well, the weekend got away from me.  But I did move my easybake oven into the shop and put it up on the wall.  It's been in the barn since I built it, but it's a pain to haul the form and everything out there.  And of course it takes longer to come up to temperature in the winter out there.  I decided I'd rather dump that heat into my shop than the drafty barn.

I'm starting to think seriously about the whole electric strip idea.  This thing is 7' long and probably weighs 300# empty.  Getting it high up on the wall was a challenge, even with my neighbor's help.  And it takes up a huge amount of room, which is why it was relegated to the barn previously.  But would I still need something to cure my riser glue-ups in, or do you use the strip heaters for those as well?

Is that an all wood takedown Roy?

Roy you forget that Dave is an naval engineer, which means everything he builds is designed to withstand shelling from the deck gun of a battleship. His hotbox is actually slightly underbuilt!

His form alone must weigh 75lbs ... it's made from extruded aluminum and designed for something ridiculous like <.0001" deflection along the entire 6' form with 90psi in the hose.

I think you can actually deer hunt with the bow form just by dropping it out of the treestand ... if you can carry it out there.

I'm sitting here waiting for the finish to dry on my latest creation. I brought it up from the basement and have it hanging by a string in my living room where the temperatures are warmer.  I should be able to add the handle wrap tomorrow night and will post some pics.

Started on my horsebow for myself.  It and my trade bow will most likely be the last bows I make for quite some time, if at all.  My hands tell me you can shoot or you can make.  Pick one.

finally got the smooth-on cleaned up and unboxed the bow I baked last night---

pulled this out--

I like to use rubber bands to hold everything in line--and rubber shims [held w/electric tape]the shims help to make sure the fades close tight--

better shot of the rubber shims--

this riser clamp has served well--it holds down the riser and keeps the hose from loading the ends of the glass and shoving things around--

wrap and stuff off[still rubber bands glued to it]

30 minutes later [24 grit belt!]all cleaned up and ready for layout---

Bob, the boo I buy is moso but I'm not sure what species my friend cuts for me.  It has gone wild behind her house from a neighboring property. Her husband wants to get rid of it.  It works out pretty well.

FNG question: what is moso?
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.
