thats true- but we have more than our fair share of weird hippie's here- when people have worn out there welcome everywhere else- they keep headin' west- and this is as far west as one can get - before being east again
but yer right Dave- not too much of that here!
but things are hard to find in a hurry here - everything is shipped in

Roy, Where's all the snow at, we still have 6-10" on the ground here in spots.  Starting to see some bare spots on the south facing slopes though.

Our ground has been white since December. It's been a rough winter for the USA...

It really has been Roy. Even here around Washington DC we've got a really suprising amount of snow. Must be over 2 feet total, which isn't alot for the north, but thats alot of snow down here.

Let's hope the worst is behind us now.

Worked on my swap bow some today.  Cleaned up the shop a little and shot my plan "B" bow, made from a 1-1/2" dia. piece of privet.  It's a good little shooter, but far from done yet.  I'm going to try heat treating it just to see if the performance is improved.  See if we can't take it from good to excellent.

Spent a couple of hours visiting my youngest son this afternoon. Tuesday he flies to New York City for a few days.  This is his fourth trip since moving off to college but it still scares the hell out of me!

Sanded the profile into some hickory for a tri lam backing.
Should have belly wood early/mid week.

took my Son to the Cub scout pinewood derby yesterday.
He had a pretty good car..took third out of about 50 cars and got a cool trophy.
He was pretty proud. Took him to Mc Donalds (which we don't do often) to celebrate and get him a shamrock shake with lunch.
Not sure if he liked the shake or the trophy more...lol

Red, I know what you mean.  I've put three through college and all have stayed in Arkansas but still had to travel some because they were all golfers.  My youngest is a senior at A State now.  She was traveling today for golf.  Never an easy moment while they are away.  Hang in there.

David, I'm glad your kids are staying close to home. This youngest of mine thinks NYC is the ultimate place! He thinks that's gonna be the city for him.

I finally had a couple of hours and warm dry weather to work on my trade bow this afternoon. Got the boo glued on the 'sage. Now just haft await.

Thanks David that was the first time I tried that look in tips. I used my iPhone to take the pic and was shocked how clear the pic came out.

My wife has gone away for 4 days so I plan on doing a bunch in the shop. I'm going to try my hand at steaming some Hickory tips to make a static recurve and also work on shaping the fades and tips of my swap bow. I glued on a hickory backing with TB111 and want to give the moisture in that plenty of time to work its way out before I start bending it.

Razorback,

I have actually been weighing my bows after glue up with TBIII and I've found it takes quite a long time for the weight to stabilize (read for the MC to stabilize) as long as 4 weeks.

Thanks Ben, I didn't think it would be that long. I will wait another couple of days and also put it in my drying spot. I have a heat register that I have set up to help dry wood. Warm dry air helps greatly in drying out bows.
