Nice job Bob... I like the accent near the tips.

Today I got some new LVL beam for new forms. I plan on making them rock solid with some help from my brother. I am going to encase the bottom and sides of the form in 1/8 steel with angle iron feet. I've been laminating plywood together and they seem to loose their straightness so far. I will post some pictures when I have the first one completed.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. Re the piece at the nocks, its a tip groove overlay so I can cut the groove into it rather than the glass. The yellow 'stripe' is just a piece of silver Ash accent running diagonally between two pieces of Jarrah and laminated together to form one piece which is then tapered down to fade out on the limb.

Bob, as always, beautiful bow, made from some of the best looking wood. You sure know how to put the right combinations together.

Moose, great job on the quiver.

I sure appreciate your kind words there Dan. I guess having an artistic background might give me a bit of an idea about aesthetics.

Spent over $100 on an aluminum framing system that I am going to try out on my form this weekend. I hope this is the first and last form I have to make for this design. If all goes to plan I will get more aluminum and do this to each of my forms.

Justin that sounds pretty cool. You need to show and tell on those aluminum forms.

Hey bob, beautiful bow man!!
At one stage in s.a. All the railway ties were made from jarra, beautiful wood, when they started changing to concrete ties , you could buy truckloads of jarra ties for a few dollars, what a pity, can you imagine how many trees that took!!!??!!

It's incredible what beautiful wood used to be wasted on. My Dad told me that during the war, they used greenheart, purpleheart and other woods that you now pay a fortune for to make concrete forms for pillboxes and bunkers.    :scared:

Thanks again guys. Jarrah is still used for a lot of industrial use to this day.As you say, bit like using a Ferrari to deliver the milk in.

Today I fried some mangrove snapper fillets for lunch.. I caught them Friday night out in the Gulf of Mexico, it was rough weather and I got tossed around a bit.

Built a new thumb ring, pics tomorrow if they behave.  Getting more comfortable making them, now I need to try different woods.  Still on the hunt for a few pieces of ironwood and lignum vitae, but I still have some wood here to go through.
