It is really hot here today.  Couldn't stand it too long in shop but did get a little work done.  Working on a longbow riser wif lots of pieces.   :laughing:

Bob, the black wood is diamond wood from Bingham.  The redish brown wood is grenadillo.

went for a nice walk, let one deer at about 7 or 8 yards walk, because i just could not thread the arrow thru the bush with a clean conscience.
man, that asat leafy camo is awesome!!!

missed a young male grouse- over confident- could already taste the grouse stew, as i hastily released   :knothead:

saw loits of fresh bear poop!!- full of salaal berries.

Finally finished sanding my latest bow. Took forever, seemed like every time I picked it up I was sanding on it! But I'm pretty pleased with the outcome! All I need now is to put on some buffalo hide. Was trying to finish it by this weekend but it looks like it'll be next weekend now. Here's a teaser pic for now.

Thx David. When I talked to Big Jim I told him I wanted some dark cocobolo, he said he had some that was almost red but I wasn't sure how it was going to look with the myrtle. I'm glad I listened to him. He did good!!

70" #53@28--yew core--curly maple riser--very mild R/D
this is the longest bow I've made to date

 
 
 
G10/osage tips
 
this will get leather on the grip [I almost hate to on curly maple!]
