Been busy with work and honey-dos.  I'll get back on my trade tomorrow.

Beautiful bows, guys!!! I especially like that self bow, John.

Joe, good luck keeping that promise! No way I could stand up to that kind of pressure!     :archer:

Might have some pics of where I've gotten the bow down to with the hand planer-needs to be heated and bent into alignment, then I can start working on the riser and tips.  Pulls good, just the board had some bend in it.  Somewhere between 50-55 pounds (probably closer to 55) at 29", now I've got to refine it some.  Once I refine the shape, I can work on getting the finish on the wood before I lace it.

NO WAY I FINALLY MADE THE "ROY'S THUMPIN LIST"  I've been trying to do that for years.  Almost made it on my birthday too.

Anyway though great looking bows everybody.

Justin that thing has a great bend.  Great looking bow

I've been working on mine some.   I swear one of the hardest about building a bow for me is getting the back of my riser to match the shape of my form.  I trace it and cut it on the bandsaw and its close then when I go to sand the saw kerfs out I somehow on a belt on the sander that is square with its deck I somehow manage to sand it off square..lol...so trace the shape and try again.  Oh well I'll get it.

D, ya just lost this bow. I was going to send it to you because we've been friends on here for a long time, and I was going to start another bow for the swap. But since ya got a bad case of potty mouth this morning, then the heck with ya boy. I'll just send it west to my recipient.  :)

Well I just shot it another 50 times, 50 pounds is a bit much for this ole man to shoot on a regular basis. I'd love to keep it, but I can make another one just like her @ 40 pounds..  :)  So it's all packaged up in a 4 inch pvc pipe and I'll ship it out tomorrow. It's heading west from Pennsylvania. Kelly I will contact you tomorrow after I ship it.

D, stop and think about this. Tennessee is west of Pennsylvania.... That's all I'm gonna say, so keep your fingers crossed or wave at it as it flies past your house..  :)   LOL

Got $&?@;/!'s bow rasped to profile today. Now it'll have to wait until Wednesday before I have a chance to reduce limb thickness.

roy, could we get a better pic of the mid-section of the tube? you know, where you wrote on it?

i got my lams/glass from kenny the other day, was planning to use a nice piece of walnut for the riser. it has somehow disappeared from my garage. it's a mess in there now, spent all day tossing the whole thing looking for it. gone! but i got a piece of walnut that is 1x4x18" and a maple piece that is 3/4x2x18" might laminate them up for the riser. has dark brown glass and maple lams. what ya think?

I'm sure whoever gets it will be super excited.  Well done Roy

I spent just a little time in the shop tonight.  I got so pissed off I just turned everything off and left.  I'm going to build a new form I think not for sure yet may have to build a new riser to but who knows.  Too aggravated to even want to think about it right now.
