Great looking bow D.

I knocked mine over while working on the shipping tube and chipped one of the tip overlays, need to do a repair before shipping.

Kelly, I'll let you know when it's shipped.

Yeah, the older I get the more stuff like that happens.

Have the new piece glued on, we'll see what it looks like when it dries.

Got the first coat of oil on my swap bow today  :D

I decided since I'm finishing the bow now, I'll go ahead and open mine.  And since turkey season starts Monday    ;)   I'll get pictures up later

D, what's the thickness of the accent stripes? If you don't mind me asking. I got a shipment from Big Jim today and I'm doing a coco and tiger myrtle riser with a black stripe. My pholonic is 1/8" thick. Maybe it'll be ok just looks a little thick to me.
( Big Jim sent exactly what I ordered, I'm just wondering if I should go thinner )   :dunno:

Wow D, nice.

Spent a little time in the shop tonight. Since this will be my first forward handle, I wanted to work out the new riser shape before I do the final riser glue-up. Got something worked out that seems to let me flex most types of wood in my shop around the bend as lams up to 0.080 thick. The double bend is definitely tougher than the single for a Hill normal bow. I just couldn't bring myself to simply turn the bow around. The riser has to look like it's meant to be shot that way. I also like to minimize the riser length to get more working limb. But I had to stretch this one out about 2" longer if I wanted the lams to run over the riser.

Anyhow, still planning to glue up ****'s bow this weekend.

I got a couple coats of oil on my trade bow today, so I decided it was time to finally open mine.  Thanks so much Jim Rocole!  I've been looking for an excuse to build me a three piece, but now I have one!  It looks really nice.  Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I'll get a few arrows through her tomorrow.  Now I have an excuse to buy some new carbons I've been looking at!  :)

BTW, what's that block you sent?  It doesn't look like anything I'm familiar with, but I'm not too good on the exotics anyway.  If I had to guess I'd say bubinga.  Anyway, I'll probably use some of it on the next one for sure!  Thanks so much again!

Cabbage you got bow wood too??? That's cool.  I have no idea how you waited that long to open that bow.  No way I could have done it.

Canopy that's interesting jigs.  I'll be looking forward to seeing how it works out.

Heck no I don't mind you asking critter.  Feel free to ask whatever you want.  Everything I know I have learned from people on here willing to help me.  The strips are a 1/16 of maple, 1/16 walnut, and a 1/16 of maple.

Thats always rough Ink. I'm sure you'll get to the finish, just stick in there.
