Slow progress but coming along.  Someone decided I had a gall bladder I needed to have removed.  Had to cut an inch off each limb to make weight.  All osage and glass.

I'm loving that Osage Al.

Is that a purpleheart stripe?

Overall very clean sleek design, simple but elegant.

Will look even more killer as the osage ages a bit.

Stripe in riser is red phenolic, red glasss in limb.  Usually finish with spar varnish but it has ULV protection which might effect the nice aging of osage.  So I am going to use epoxy for finish instead.

It amazes me how you see the very fancy bow like mike's, Kenny's and many others and thank wow what a bow. then see a simple bow like AL's and think wow what a bow. Is there an ugly bow? There are some beat up bows some aged bows but ugly? I think not.

Whether she is dressed for the ball or the hunt, dress for formal dinning or home cooking they are all dressed for the kill!

Some great work. I had my son pull my stave around. I will get to ring chasing this weekend. It is along stave with one big knot. I may belly split it has some checks but I don't worry about them to much. I will get below them. I need to look at the rings a bit more and see where I want to chase to. This stave is about as straight as hedge gets. Some knots but not bad. I would say it is a C+ stave A staves being straight not knots. But it is hedge and I have not gotten the bark off. I might turn into on of the Gooses specials.

here is where i'm at; couple more coats of satin poly over a few glass blemishes, leather rest/pass, leather grip, and a new string. got a couple hundred shots on it and i'm going to have to have my wife take it to post office when the time comes. my 6th glass bow and my favorite. will have to make another just like it. pulling somewhere between 2@18 and 186@38. not as stand outish as most of the bows this year, but it'll hold it's own on the range and woods.

"pulling somewhere between 2@18 and 186@38."

I'd be willing to put my wages that it's somewhere in the weight range.

How it preforms is way more important than how stand outish it is.  With that being said I think it looks very stand outish.  Just my opinion.  Just the one I got from Roy.  It looks like crap but it shoots really well...some things a person just has to look over I guess....lolol

Hey Al I used spar urethane in mine with a lot of osage in it and it still aged just fine.  I used it cause I thought it would keep it from turning as fast but...nope..Didn't notive it much til I slid my quiver off which revealed a bright yellow stripe.  Great looking bow
