I am lucky Kelly, Alan did a great job, and I love Osage. I shot it for a few hours today and it is a nice shooting bow. .

Got mine finished (except string) and I've been roughly hip-deep in new computer builds for my wife and I-mine will help me more with my eye ruined and hers is to replace a cobbled-together system.  I'll be shipping next month, as the people who built my new wheelchair held a payment too long and messed up my bank balance.  I'll be shipping on or about the third, and I'll be glad to get it to its new owner-I hope they enjoy it as much as I did working on it.

Hey, Kelly.  I shipped my trade bow out today.  It should arrive on someone's porch on or about Saturday.  :)

Ok, I have my plan C and D bows ready. A and B are headed for the fireplace.
The problem I have is that the bows are underweight. The first pictured is 67" ntn, all natural bamboo with a padauk power lam and a riser made of walnut, padauk, jatoba and maple. The tips are antler. It draws 49# @ 28". About5# below what my recipient asked for.

Well worked on plan c tonight. Gonna be a simple yet beautiful longbow. Hope to have it all glued up by the weekend. Been dealing with my own illness, shoulder injury, testing for new job, and mandatory overtime which leave little time in the shop. I still have yet to get a bird down either.

This turned out to be an AWESOME Day! Guess what showed up at my door!

Eric...I am blown away this bow is absolutely incredible and in addition to the bow Eric sent a dozen beautiful arrows!

Who wants some pics?

The second Bow I made is 68" ntn, and also made of all bamboo. the riser and tips are a laminate of cherry. walnut and maple. This one is well below weight at 43# @ 28" but I just wanted to show it because it's such a sweet shooter. It's light enough to shoot all day, but there's enough oomph to kill deer.

This bow is not only a sweet shooter, but it weighs almost nothing.
I'm thinking that if my recipient (victim)    ;)   is ok with a lower weight bow, I would ship the first one from the previous post. Otherwise, there is another one in the works, but I don't know how long it will take to get done as I have work beginning to pile up again.

Here come some pics...

This is my first ever selfbow and it is amazing - I have already put some arrows through it and it shoots smooth. I am heading out to my shooting spot this evening so that I can have some fun beyond backyard shooting.

Thanks again Eric...This is a true work of art! And the arrows are a special amazing bonus! You went over the top.

awesome!  I'm glad it made it and I'm ecstatic that you like it.  I knew it would be your first selfbow (did a little stalking  ;) ) and that made it even more exciting making it for you.  Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about it or if (knock on bow wood) anything goes wrong with it.  I'll be very interested to see how it performs over the long run, and if you have a chronograph id love to know the numbers, only ever shot one of my bows through one and it was a poor performer and i knew it.  that one should be pretty respectable.  enjoy!

Man! Miss a few days and WOW! Beautiful bows, guys!  Haven't had a chance to work on my trade lately, but I'll make the cut-off. Trying not to go through 4 bows this year!
Terrific work!

Eric - Just got home from shooting the new bow. Shoots really nice and I got in some nice 30 and 40 yards shots so I could watch the arrow flight.

What kind of snake skin is it? And what are the nocks? My wife asked me...on a scale of 1-10 how do you like it and I said 15. My buddy down the street has a Chrono so I will try to record some numbers soon and let you know. One other thing...I am keep the brace height low as compared to my laminated longbows I believe I am at 6 1/2 inches...is that good?

Thanks again!

The whole bow is done with half of a big timber rattler... Cutt the skin in half and then split it down the middle so the top and bottom limb have matching patterns.  The string nocks and the beads on the handle wrap and string keeper are from the same white tail antler shed i found out in the woods.  The arrows are douglas fir premiums from surewood spined at 55-60# and weight matched within 10 grains.  I think 6 1/2 brace is about what i shot it in at.  I usually keep it as low as i can without slapping my wrist.  String is 14 strand d97 and the silencers are fox.
