Having been on both sides of a late exchange I can understand the aggravation. It is what it is. If you're in this just for a higher quality bow than you can make or afford you are missing the point.
I'm in it for what it really means, and motivation.

Canopyboy, shoot a pm if you were serious....
Since you said you were lookign for a hill bow I think you'd be in for a treat. I've shot a few of Dave's Bows both bought and built and I think the ones he built are a cut above.

Dang, looks like there's a whole secondary market for mini-swaps. Who knew?

I'm afraid I might feel guilty about ruining it for Kevin's next "true" swap recipient. (Of course, I've kind of built up a tolerance to guilt over the years...)

Building two sinew/osage combo's is just as easy/hard/messy as building one..

But if anyone knows of some snake skins that are not being used...shoot an email or pm...

One of the few critters that are in short supply up here...

And Dave...guilt is highly overrated...

I've been the last to deliver a bow in this swap and can tell you it is no fun. I think anyone who enters from this site is genuinely in it for the right reasons and will feel guilty (No matter how overated it is:) )for not getting it done on time. I know from my perspective as long as the effort is genuine I don't care when I get a bow or what quality it is. The first 2 bows I got in this swap where not from seasoned bowyers and neither was safely shootable. Quality was not an issue for me but effort was. One is a prized member of my bow rack and the other lit a fire. As long as the spirit is right then all should be good with this swap.
Thank you to all who have participated in the spirit of this swap and lets hope all will continue to participate as best they can.

Also a big THANK YOU to Kelly for doing this again. It is a lot of work corralling this herd of cats each year so again thanks.

ok I think the last coat of tru oil will go on tonight. I will shoot it a bit tomorrow and try and get it sent off Saturday or Monday. I might have to test her in the woods Saturday morning. I really don't want to send off a bow that will not make meat.

I am telling you she is looking good. I have decided not to do any handle wraps the wood is simply beautiful. I will get some pics up tomorrow once here last bit of make up goes on.

Just a bit of info so. She is 66"ttt. pulling 3#over ****** draw length so I hope that is not to much. (so you know its' not for Roy.)

She is an Osage American longbow with some character with black rat snake skin dressing her up. I put antler tips on (a first for me) They are just the tip of a brow tine cut in half so they have their own character. I think that is all I can really say other then it really draws smooth and shoots the same. I hope it is a bow worth waiting for.

Ok I think I have something that will get the blood pumping back in most of you zombies out there.

How about some unbraced action

or maybe a bit a pic of it braced.

or how about a close up of the tips.

lower

upper

Ok handle I really like the wood. I have put CA glue in all the cracks. Just a floppy I though about a bit of antler but They were not that easy on the tips and there is more wave in the handle so I went for something I knew would work.

left

 [/URL]

right that spot is Osage sawdust and wood glue to fill in a knot where I dug out limb. The grain in this hedge is awesome.

to be continued

razor if you were looking at my big @$$ you were looking at the wrong thing.

I telling that bow shoots and shoots well. I am very pleased at how it turned out. It is quiet the arrow flying is louder then that bow shooting.

thanks for the kind words.
