What kinda wood is in it? Black walnut, zebra, and maple???
You nailed, Justin. The walnut has been in the family since 1955 when my father in law had some boards rough sawn from a large tree he helped a friend take down. That is well traveled wood! From its origins in Omaha, it has been to Paris France where it rested peacably in storage for about four years. Then it was off to Sacramento for a few years and then several times across the country before landing in Northern Virginia for a spell and finally out to Colorado and eventually into my hands.
The maple and zebra are everyday Binghams.
Sorry it does not hit the weight you expected. Had to reduce the width a bit more than planned and it cost a few pounds. The riser and tip overlays are also walnut. Those on the tips are sorta stabilized with Min Wax wood hardener, but probably not ok for fast flight
I always chrono my bows and this one turned up an average 164 fps with a 525 gr arrow and 156 fps with a 650 gr arrow.
Hope this bow serves you well. If it comes apart, let me know and I'll build another for you.
