I decided to mix it up on .......'s bow, ended up sassafras belly, walnut back. Riser is wenge, walnut and sapele in between. Gonna be 58" hopefully about 55 pounds.

Looking good guys!  I'm surprised at all the work done so far.  I just got a walnut board from the local Amish today with some really pretty grain.  As soon as I can find a camera I'll take some pics.

Here's a question for everyone; I'm thinking of doing a 3 piece t/d with the curly walnut on one side of the limbs and some real nicely grained hickory on the other.  So what's your preference?  Walnut on back and hickory on belly, or vise versa?  What say you?

Wow Todd, that sure came out nice! I can't wait to see that riser carved.
T.C., from a hunter's point of view I like the dark wood on the back, unless the wood has natural camo like figured myrtle or olive wood.
Just my 2 cents.
I sure wish it would warm up a little. I have some parts for my plan A bow sitting in the garage waiting for me.

I wish it would warm up too.  This weather isn't anything like we usually have, and it's really starting to hurt.  That, and the fact I fell off my front steps yesterday an got a bone bruise on my bad hip, a wrenched back and I sprained my good shoulder.  I'll be starting late, I guess...
