Started gluing up a test subject for my swap bow, I'm seriously considering one like it for **** when I receive the real materials for it.  Still might have to order a bit of stuff, but it's mostly here.  Looking at a main body of yew (thanks again fujimo for the offer) with possibly a riser of red elm, that or some of my oak from the above posts, and I haven't decided what for the ends yet, got some more research to do before I finalize that choice, as well as a secret backing, depending on how this test goes.  I'm interested to see how this test goes, as it will be more extreme than what I am planning for my swap bow.

Got my riser all finished up and got the first coat of shinny stuff on it.  and Im still working on the limbs.  Curly walnut limb pad bolsters and buffalo horn tips.

Just taking my time.

Had to snap this picture as I left the shop, sort of romantic:) Have heat lamps on both Z slices, unibond needs to be kept at 65 degrees to cure, the lamps will keep it about 70 degrees.

And the sky is clear with a 1/4 moon and the stars are out:)

Thanks everyone, sad to say this will be my last one. The arthritis in my hands after this is really bad, it will be a few days before I can even shoot.
No regrets though it has been great watching all the bows being built by all the great bowyers on here.

Moe here is the worst crack on the first bow, runs both ways on the limb. The lateral crack doesn't bother me but the crack to the edge of the limb does since it is centered in the lateral crack. Just asking for a blow up there. I super glued it and will shoot the bow to see if it holds. But I will never be happy about it.

I just cannot stop being blown away by all of bows. And John I think that snake ate your bow. Just kinda snaky? But it is Xtra special:)

Roy, Deep breaths Long sighs.

Ranger sorry to hear about your hands.

Dan, Wow, love the levers and nice Dutchman that adds to the bows story.

And to the Glass bowyers;

Thank you Roy! After studying the pic for some time now I`m pretty sure it`s left of the node^^
This wasn`t visible before your stain job?
(I`m afraid I wouldn`t have realized this at all- but I gues you built "some" of those bows before   ;) - ok I`ve seen some and they are amazing....)

To the right of node, Moe. I must have missed it before the staining. Putting stain on brings out all the little imperfections. After the first stain, I find all the little scratches and sand them out, then stain again.
