Had time to work on the swapper, but no pics just yet.....

May have to keep it for myself, its a little heavy for my victim at 750 # @280"   :D   (actually will start stacking before that)
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Quilted maple looks really good under glass- you can leave it natural or stain it- both come out nice.
Dang Kenny if it was 749.5#s@280 it would be perfect...

Kenny, 700# is about my limit. Can you shave a little off?

Took the swap bow out of the clamps. Pretty sexy but it's not going to make the 50#+ weight I need, more like low 40's so it's going to be Roy's bow and I need to make another bow for the swap. I had my suspicions because the belly lam was thinner than I need to get over 50, that's why I added the red elm lam. I even cut 4" off it and took her down to 60" and still believe it will only be low 40's. I have till July so no big hurry... It's all fun..

Roy if it ends up at 45# that will be just fine.  ive kinda been thinking 45-50 might be a better weight for me at the moment.  ive been shooting 55# and im having a hard time shooting it well, shooting lighter bows much better.

I'll keep that in mind, Eric.  :)  And yes a lighter weight bow will make you a much better shooter...

Very true ... If only I could hunt with a 30# recurve, I'd be a legend!

I find that my accuracy is best at or below 40#. I can shoot 50# acceptably well for hunting at reasonable ranges ... but for the 3-D course ... less is more.

Thanks Wayne, it was a little experiment. Just wish it was over 50#. But then again, it's going to be mine.  :)

Well I got my trade bow shipped out today so be on the look out for it.

And then I got a call from my wife about a package that arrived today... Were you expecting a box from Dave Lint I'm asked- right away I'm thinking trade bow and I'm right. The only problem is I'm out of town and won't be able to open it for a few days so now the anticipation really kicks in- plus the wife gets to torment me a bit. Here's what I know about it so far-

Well, I had a come to Jesus meeting with the bow I was testing for my swap recipient.  I think I have firewood now, will have to check later when my hands work right again.  Think I'm just gonna go with tried-and-true with one of my designs that I already know works.  I think experimentatin' is for those who possess functional hands.  Mine will probably be retiring form this gig after the swap and the horsebow I just posted about.  I can shoot or make.  I have to pick, and I'm gonna pick shoot.  Can probably still make arrows OK though.  We'll see.

Wow, I feel like such a slacker. Once I put the safety backing on I have not touched it or even made a tillering string for Mr ****s swap bow.

Well Trux since I have not sent my bow out yet I know that your bow is not for me. Oh well life goes on.

Kelly I hope your leg is getting better.

Roy, If you need to send that beautiful disappointment somewhere then Santa Cruz Mountains might be just the place.  :)

Soy here is another pair of Sunglasses for you   :saywhat:

Awesome bows Trad gangers.   :clapper:
