Tips look great Eric. And enough wiggle in that stick to make skinning it super-cool.

Big snow/ice storm here in MN.  I just got power back that went out back on Thursday.  Lot's of great stuff going on here while I was gone.  It will be a while before I get started as I'll be working in the unheated barn.

Finally got to do just a little work today.  Not much though.  I spent a little time working on some veneers to splice.  Just worked on some ides a little.  The plan is for the bow tips to be the direction of the top of the picture.  They are walnut and some curly maple.  I like the two in the middle best.  Don't know which design I'll use yet though.

Hey thanks for the votes guys.  They are just samples I was playing around with.  I made a metal template that match the radius of both the middle ones so when I do the real ones the lines will be cleaner and match.....hopefully.  Just haven't decided which way to face the point either the riser or the tip.  Thanks for the imput.

Those veneers are nice- I'd put the points towards the tips. How are you splicing them?

Its probably not anywhere near the right way to do it but I just take the veneers and cut the design out of the walnut and then trace it on the maple and cut them out to fit tight and then superglue them together. Already bent the two in the middle to make sure they wouldn't break apart in the form. I wish I could make a big block to glue together and then cut the veneers out of it but i dont have a drumbsandIt this seems to work pretty good. Ut

They are made of veneer?? -so about 0,6mm/0,0236220472" ; hard to imagine those splices hold together- even handling seems hard....
(If they are really that thin you could cut both at once for better match)

Look good to me either way D.

Bob, your bow looks great.

Rob, very nice profile.  Bet it shoots great when you get it done.  Are those tips horn or wood?

well mr **** your bow broke my arrow.  you owe me one arrow.  nah it was to weak for your bow and it shoots with such authority that when the extremely tough premium douglas fir shaft entered the target at an imperfect angle it exploded.  seriously though this bow is pretty darn quick.  and i gotta say i don't think ive made one that was this quiet without anything on the string. once i dug out some heavier spined arrows i was in business. put 50 arras through it yesterday and 100 today.  here it is strung, a couple seconds after unstringing, and 30 minutes after unstringing.  if ya decide you don't want it you can send it back!

im gonna have to order some stiffer shafts for it, cause what i have just aint gonna cut it.
