Sealing hickory longbow question

What type sealer or poly is best for a hickory longbow? Also, how do you hang up or support the bow so you can get every part with the sealer.

I us Tru-Oil on all my bows; selfbows, with wood backing and with sinew backing. I generally seal the handle area first with a few coats of Tru-Oil then do the limbs and balance the bow on the handle while the limbs are drying.

I use Fullerplast which I think is one of the best and never yellows.Years ago I used polyurethane and it does good.I sometimes now use minwax lacquer and use a bottle with a hole in the cap for smaller jobs.Squirt a little in my hand and rub it on.It also dries really quick so you can get several coats on pretty quickly.

I use Tru-Oil to finish my bows too.  Do the belly and support the bow from two points on the back.  When dry, do the back and then support from the belly.  You can coat the handle area while doing each side too.  I used to put a coat on the entire bow but have determined that doing each side works better for me.

I use Teak oil by watco
wipe on 20 minutes later wipe off repeat two more times. lean it on a wall with a clean rag under it. Simple and no drips sag or runs. If you see them wipe them off you put to much on. If you want a satin look, after 72 hours put watco satin finishing wax on.
