Refinishing a recurve. What's the best way to apply smooth on? Is it ok to use as a finish? Do you need more than one coating? Thanks in advance for the advice.

I would use Tru oil or a spray Spar Urethane. Smooth On as a finish maybe a real pain to work with.

Yeah, that sounds pretty difficult. If you want to use an epoxy finish, maybe check out thunderbird?

Do a search for "Massey Finish" on the forum and you will learn how to use epoxy as a finish.

Troy D Breeding (spelled right?) Helped me with a massey finish. It's fairly easy, definitely want to do it on a day with nothing else to do. I'd go with a spray on finish.

Thanks guys! I'm glad I asked before I tried it
I hunt hard with my bow and have been known to drop them from my tree stand. I need a finish that will hold up to my abuse. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
