at last... here we go fellas
hope its ok
i sure learnt a lot doing this bow,
1.the "roybert indexing pin" ,
2.the end blocks to stop the lams sliding.
3.that the best nock overlay material is undoubtedly horn, i used Ipe on this one- but sure liked the horn better .
4. my nock overlays need to be 1/4" longer on the tapered side of the overlays- to look more balanced !
5.i sealed the riser and limb sides with superglue, first time- sure like that, what a difference to the finish!!!
6. will consider the i beam more on the next one, Holly would have looked better on this one-in fact Osage would have been the nicest, instead of plain ol' maple
7. the yew, curved insert in the riser could have been an 1/8th to a 1/4" closer to the back- will check out the final look with a pattern of the riser, when i lay out the next riser!
but all in all- i am happy with it- now time to quit fooling around and get back to a bunch of self bows i have been neglecting. :D
the riser
the limbs- great advice from kenny- making an "X" rated splice alignment!
this is how i like to do my string nocks- so the string angle is always good
the nock overlay could be just 1/4" longer
