AND THEN... These two birds started working on a Glass Bow.... In my wood bow shop.. The nerve of some people..  :)

My best friend Denny, aka boobacker, sanding the limbs to the line, darn edge sander worked great for that.

And here is ole Delongbows, aka Dave, showing us rookie glass guys how to lay out the limbs.

The glass take down came out sweet, about 46 pounds at 28". Thanks so much Dave for your expertise... Denny's draw is 29 so it will be about 48 pounds for him. That's plenty for an ole man..   :)

But we all had fun making bows on a February day in SW Pa.. Glass, wood, no big deal, it's just the good times with guys making bows that counts. And we put a hurting on two giant pizzas and a few cold beverages...

Video below is Dave mounting one limb while Denny grinds out the second limb, Trapper Rob prepping a piece of Boo for a tri lam and Joe applying the final sanding on his boo backed tri lam... All I did was run the camera, give advice, eat, drink Ice Tea, and go up to the house and let the ole dog out to pee!

Special thanks to Kenny M for gluing up the limbs for Denny's take down.

Looks like a real fine time.

So how did you like the smell of glass and smooth-on permeating your shop?

Figures, I needed somewhere to go today... ended up going to a buddy's house to watch MMA fights. Would have MUCH rather whittled on this osage selfbow. Stayed within the boundaries of my diet though.... rum and wings :^)
