Coming out of the limb form, I CAREFULLY sand one edge of the limb just until I grind off all of the squeeze out and first expose a clean edge showing all of the lams. This gives me a straight edge which I then use against the fence of the table saw and rip the limb to 1 5/8". The center of the hole in the drill jig is 11/16" from the table top, placing the limb pin alignment holes and bolt hole dead center in the middle of the limb. I had a machinist make the jigs for me. Use a hardened steel drill insert, otherwise you'll hog out the drill holes in the aluminum over time.
