what is limb pinch?
« on: April 13, 2014, 12:21:00 PM »
I have a savannah reflex reflex longbow 50#@28 (64 inches long) was told buy the maker that when bow is strung that you can pinch the string and limb together about 3 inches down from tips going towards the face of bow  you can grad the tips and very easily flex the limbs towards the face of bow But when unstrung limbs are firm like they should be .The maker said .Because the limbs are 2’’ longer they thin out a bit more near the tips than the 62 inch Savannah does. He said shoot it should be OK .looking for some thoughts on this .Is it safe ,   .     .     .

I've never heard the term before.
Many fast bows have thinner more flex able tips or the last several inches at least. It would be easy to pinch the limb and string together.

If the bowyer is pointing this out I'd guess he is looking at it as a positive.

Don't see why it would not be safe.
Maybe I'm missing something here.

Don't see why it would hurt anything. Out of curiosity, is it loud?

Pic's didn't show up for me the first time I posted.
Looks like the bow has some serious R/D which would make it easier to do that along with the length and weight combo.

Should shoot good.
