leopard wood
« on: May 27, 2014, 07:24:00 PM »
Has anybody used leopard wood as a belly wood with a hickory or bamboo backing? I have a nice board and was wondering about compression strength. Thanks

I cut a half dozen laminations and tapered them for a glass bow.  Beautiful wood.  None past the bend test, every one of them snapped.  I tossed the board.

Good handle wood. No good for bending due to very inconsistant 'grain'. It works as a veneer under clear glass.
