My first glass bow
« on: May 28, 2014, 10:12:00 PM »
This was my first and without the help from members here I would have never been able to do it.  It's black glass with a purpleheart riser with a yellowheart I-beam.  The tips are yellowheart and purpleheart. The overlay is the same with some white phenolic added.

The color scheme comes from being a fan of the Minnesota Vikings.  This was basically a test bow before I made a bow for the Trad Gang bow swap so I thought I might as well try something a little fun. I learned a lot and found I have more to learn but, it was fun.

That looks great Ranger!! I'm working on my first glass bow as well. If it comes out half as good as yours I'll be happy!!

Thanks guys!  I really like the looks of purpleheart too!  I can't get my phone to get the colors quite right either in sun or shade.  The purpleheart looks even better in person.

I'll admit it's hard not to think of building more.  I'm sure I will in time but there are too many things I need to do here around home.  What I'm really looking forward to is no deadline and relaxing a little more while building.    :)

As for the "green and gold" comment!  They were my high school colors but I won't say what I'm really thinking.  HaHa    :biglaugh:

Nice job! Nothing quite like that "I made this" feeling when you hold it in your hand.
