brothers new bow
« on: June 03, 2014, 06:36:00 PM »
well it's taken several months, but here is the newest bow my bro and i built. he did the recurved tips then got busy with work and asked me to finish it out. he wanted a "dummie" proof bow. RH/LH shot no matter how you pick it up.

rawhide backed red oak, 41@28, was shooting for 45# but tillering to shoot either limb to the top and 3 finger under was a new quest for me. im pleased with the end result. he is picking it up tonight. i made up 6 bamboo arras to match but while shooting today i killed one, oops.

oh, it's named "Chiye Tanka" means "bigfoot" in sioux. he is a member with the BFRO, and is always out looking for the big guy. i often "advise" with locations for their trail cams to catch him. but, all they end up getting pics of is bear, deer, elk, moose, and the like.   :D

Great looking bow!  Really like the profile and the way you painted it.
