My favorite finish yet

I know it's not a crazy looking piece of osage but I think the finish is my favorite yet. The first three shots at around 15 yards weren't bad either! It's shooting around 53lbs @ 28"

That is beautiful! What is it/ how did you do it? That's some camouflage.

The finish is Rit die diluted with a bit of alcohol. I then blotted it on using a plastic sack. You have to be sure not to wipe the stain on or smear it. Just dip and blot. No wiping. I'll have to be careful with the finish not to wipe as well. Hope that helps!

that is REALLY COOL man!
..it took me a few looks before I figured out what you were showing in the second pic. I just kept looking at the "piece" of wood on the right...lol Didn't even see the bow..thought it was the asphalt...lol

Great looking bow-- what's the makeup of the bow? Bamboo backing? Bamboo or a wood belly core? No glass, right?
From the side, the profile looks a lot like my Northern Mist Whisper.

The bow is a bamboo backed osage with a snakewood (??) forward handle glue up. The tips are whitetail and osage. No glass in the bow.
To make the "camo" there was little to the process. Maybe took a total of 3 minutes. If I find some time here in the next couple of days I'll post a how to but it is extremely simple to do... and to mess up

Very interesting! I got one of those art sponges to try something similar, but I haven't done it yet.

I will be at MOJam with the bow this year but only until Friday. I used the dark brown dye diluted with some alcohol. I'm sure I'll see some of y'all there!
