« on: October 23, 2014, 08:02:00 AM »
I built a recurve for a fella.  plain ol woods got put together and it came out ok i guess.  Koa and Ziricote for the riser.  the limbs are Myrtle with aboo cores and impala horn tips.  57 @30

Shawn a fella should not have too stare at a bow like that while hunting so send it too me and spare that other poor fella.

I think the shelf is just right.

Thanks All.  The streaky glass got me on this one it really took away from the veneers.  It is what it is though.

The finish is Big Jims three coats of gloss and then step back about 6 feet with satin and spray about 6 coats.  just let it mist onto the bow and it will come out looking like a matte finish on a rifle or scope.

Kelly that things just south of you and already shot a speed goat.

what the heck is a speed goat?
beautiful work.
i have also done that on a few bows now- spray from a distance- allow it to form droplets and it gives that nicer textured "matt" finish
