Boy Kenny you have started something here.  Looking good.  Full length lams, tapered and everything, even the superlam full length.  WOW!   :coffee:    :coffee:

Bue, it has .003 total but the .001 has a builtin powerlam and tip wedge.

David, the other bows I've built didn't have the big swoopy deflex in riser, and also the belly lams were all stopped before the center. So short pieces worked well!

I was afraid the CA joint in 2 pc lams would give out under the riser during glue up. That isn't a mess I wanted to deal with. Then I thought heck may as well make the belly lams one pc too!

By the way David - thanks for all your help on this thing!!    :notworthy:

Kenny, hope I am not too curious, but I am always interested in how things are made, even if I don't plan on building it myself. Would you explain in more detail what you mean when you say the .001 has a built in powerlam and tip wedge. Is it a compound taper where the thin ends of the full lenght lam gets gradually thicker towards the tip end?
The late Jack Howard used to do something like that in his recurve bows. Bue--.

CRAP!!    Glad I went with black glass!

Bue, exactly.  It is a .001 taper with a 12" wedge built on each end at about .009" per inch.

Then I paralleled the ends for 8" because it looked too thick on the ends.

Dang it! I took about 20 pics of working on this bow, loaded on computer and deleted the card.

Well, they are somewhere in cyberspace.

The bow came in quite heavy at 65@ 28" ! Wow!!

Stack was .365 probably shoulda been about .340! LOL

I'm not sure I like the braced profile but full draw don't look too bad. Not the look I'm used to but will draw to an obscene long draw.

Didn't square up with string til 33.5" LOL

Has enuff preload that it will be really quiet, shot a couple arrows off it with no shelf cut, really quiet in shop!

Hmmm, just happened to think, guess that skinny little riser must be stout nuff, no idea what it is drawing for weight at 33.5"

Better wait and see her profile, Craig!!

I hear online dating is chancy!! LOL

Got some pics going now??

Got her out of form and cleaned up on my edge sander! LOL... Pic didn't turn, but can't be picky I guess

Glue lines are good!

Laying out length, 31" from centerline for a 62" bow...

Marked center of limbs at nock(31" mark) and at center of bow, stretched hi tech B-50 alignment checking attachment and is real close....

Off barely, so didn't change mark on end of limbs to match center, just marked edge of line to lay out from with arrow...

Measured 5/16 each way from edge of mark in above pic and measured 12" from bow center, strait line fades to nocks...

Laying beside a 58" off original D/R to show differences...

Now on the 31" mark from center which I squared across limb before grinding profile, I mark at 45* (make sure nocks are pointed right way  :)
I leave the line, makes a 3" shorter string work just right after overlays are on. I round the edges on back slightly ,will put overlays on a bit later. Usually go ahead and put em on before this point, but thought I may have to pike it...

Now the part I just ain't sure about. The braced profile . Just not sure I like the look of it, way different look than I'm used to....

28" draw..

String angle at 28" probably not getting all the power out of her, will chrono it when done...

Drew her on the homemade Hooter Shooter til the string squared up...

33.5" draw when she squared up, reckon it will stack shortly there after!! !!    :D
