red mahogany riser
« on: January 24, 2015, 03:55:00 PM »
Hello all! I recently came into a small lot of red mahogany boards and was wondering if it would be strong enough to use for a 1 pc. Glass longbow riser? The riser  will be 22" with  long, thin fades and have an extra overlay  of glass on the back in the shelf/grip area. An tips or advice will be appreciated.
Thanks!!!

I've seen mahogany that is as strong as oak and some that is brittle and weak. For safety's sake I would laminate an I beam in between two pieces of mahogany.
