Do we still need a back up bowyer?

Looks like we have one bow getting shipped from NZ and Razorback is getting close. What's the word on the other four bows?

For the folks that are waiting- PM Craig your phone number. I know that was a problem for Bob with my bow.

Ok I was out of town last week. And come back to some pretty sour stuff on here.

I would like to set things a bit straight.

One this does happen every year and the last few it has been folks who were in past and in good standing that have not shipped.

two Al's bowyer forward his bow to Al but he (the bowyer) was a lefty and al sent it back (understandably). But it does pose issues for the rules were followed. I told al I would make him a bow myself if the bowyer had not by the end of this swap.
I have never let a bowyer not get a bow. Ask Ink he waited longer.

And last

I have been part of this swap since 2011 and over 650 bows have been shipped literally all over the world. And in that time everyone had eventually gotten a bow (only 2 so far took over a year). I have less then 10 in that time that just flat out failed to ship and were banned.

So focus on the negative folks and let this go to the way side or look at all the great bows and fellowship and sharing of knowledge. It is easy to be grumpy and bitter then kind and light hearted and heck even forgiving. You chose what and how you want to be. But I will start a sign up late DEC or Jan.

Now back to business. Craig I sent you the phone number I have for them.

Yes my bowyer sent the bow he received to me, in December and it was left handed (I am right handed) and 10# to heavy for me  and the handle was coming off.  I sent it back to him and he said he would make me one.  Next post I saw he was finishing up Christmas bows for customers and I never heard from him again.
I agree Kelly, I am the sour and out of line one.  Seriously I'm old and should definitely know how to behave better.  Unfortunately sometimes I don't exercise good self control and just get pissy.  For those who find themselves in my position in the future, please PM me and I will make you something.  Integrity should be the premier part of this swap, no exceptions!!!  Give better than you receive and be done by end of July.  Don't be the one that ruins the swap for someone else.  I'll shut up now.

Most of my frustration should be pointed at myself, as I messed up my only working bow after my disastrous first day, and I was simply impatient.  I also tend to get my dander up when others don't get what they're promised.  But Kelly has given better information than I had, and I was in the wrong to get angry and get pissy, as Al put it.

After 4 years of recovery and setbacks I messed up my bow the first trip out, as well as hurting myself.  It was really me I was mad at, not whoever has my bow.

Al you are a good man and deserve a shoot able bow that I do know and I hate when this does happen. I was not trying to call you out. It will be made right I know I have PMs from others to make it so.

But in the end you will get what is right and I am sorry it did take so long.

I have been on the receiving end of not getting one on time and this year I was really late shipping.

The best we can do is help and encourage each other and when folks fail be just don't allow them back in.

The times folks do fail it always amazes me how others are always there to step up and fill that gap. And that is what this community is truly about. the success that over come the shortcomings.

Didn't Dmaxshawn just send Al a bow a week ago to make up for him not getting one last year?

A piece of advice. If you enter two bow swaps and ship months late in both, try just one.

Kelly -- I really like when you put it into numbers like that. Over 600 bows shipped is pretty cool. With only 10 that never came through and were banned, we have less than a 2% total failure rate. For an online forum, that seems incredible.

Just so y'all know, there'll be one that doesn't ship for awhile. My name will continue to show up on Kelly's list. And I'm only taking half the credit for being a deadbeat. The bow for my original dropout (recipient) was done on time. The new bow for his recipient is admittedly taking too long though as life and work have me struggling to keep the air intakes above the waterline. So I did reach out and contact my recipient directly. It ruined the surprise, but I feel a bit better and I hope he does as well. He seems like the fairly patient type at least. I was honest with him and told him it would likely take until close to the end of the year, but I'll get it to him before I sign up for the next swap. I'll try to make it worth the wait.

David, I think everyone can appreciate your circumstance and the fact that you've been open and communicating the whole time.
Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes with my earlier post. Wasn't my intention.

Canopyboy,

I am tracking you. When you we say dropped out it was like a week form the ship date. So I am tracking and if I remember the first one was  lefty and that is why you had to start from scratch.

Ok Canopy since you like numbers I went back in to get them.

I really fat finger something but they are accurate as of this post.

320 bows received by the end of the swap it will go up by 6.

there are only 9 who failed to ship ever is that is 2.8%

and WE HAVE SHIPPED TO 10 COUNTRIES.

USA
Canada
Switzerland
South Africa
Turkey
Australia
New Zealand
Germany
England

Ok I will do a list of the states and Canadian territories much later. the only state that stands out as not ever been shipped to is HI.
