I'm glad to hear it wasn't as bad as it could have been Bob. The next few days might be a good time to look for fallen timber that you might not get a chance at otherwise. A little bit of a silver lining maybe.

Most of the fallen timber was to the north of us , Dave unfortunately or maybe not! We only got relatively light winds[ maybe 50mph] and heaps of rain. For a storm of its intensity the whole state escaped what could have been catastrophic. No fatalities and relatively few injuries.

Sweet looking bows being built right now. Bob glad the storm didn't do what it could have done to you all down there.

Here is a little update on what I have done. It has been a little to cold around here to use smooth on for me to put the tips on so I decided to jump ahead and do some of the riser work. While I wait on it to warm up some for me.

bigbob2

Trux and Hornchaser they are looking great!

KellyG

Trux that is going to be sweet.

Horn that is sweet!

Man those bows are coming along great! I really need to get moving. Have a blank ice been working on for a while that might just become the swap bow ...

If the weather holds tomorrow I should be ready to ship.  I'll let my victim post the finished pics.  It's almost as fast as my horn composite, and it is perfect wheelchair size but it's a short draw, so I think my victim will like it.  Now I can go back to my St. Jude's offerings.

Wow! There is some amazing bows being made here and I haven't seen one I wouldn't love to have, I need to get my self in gear and make a bow.

Ill be shipping this week.
My phone and my camera don't want to shake hands for some reason so ill leave it to whoever gets the bow to post pics if he/she so desires.
The bow that I originally started did not make the weight I was expecting so I finished up a bow that I began about a month prior. I like the bow that im shipping better anyway. I hope he/she likes it too.
Guess im supposed to provide a tracking number to KellyG???
theirs a fly in my soup

KellyG

yes shoot me a pm with the tracking number please.

After searching my stash of osage and it is was apparent another road trip is needed before starting my trade bow.  Mark Baker and I were talking and he is low on the good yellow wood to, he suggested we make the trip to OJAM next month.  Well the weather has to be better than Missouri in July and we can get some staves sooner (pun intended).  So the old F250 diesel is headed south in three weeks in hope of bringing some yellow gold back to the bow wood desert of Montana.  If you are attending OJAM stop by the camp and visit for awhile.  If you have a stock pile of Osage, and are looking to trade/sell some of it, bring it and let me know what you are asking for it.  Our goal is to get enough that a rental trailer is needed to haul it home in addition to what fits in the truck bed.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Well getting there. Sanding sealer applied. Some more sanding and then finish. Hope it would be ok to send to my victim.

Willem I  really like the riser design. The I-beam inside that crescent piece is awesome. Is that purple heart?

halfseminole

Just an FYI, I shoot from the opposite side of the shelf compared to you guys.  Necessity of thumb ring.
