Actually 3 parts, very long stave, I kept the primo end sections for the project and eliminated a mid section with some knots and cut marks from splitting. Good thing I have several other staves just like it, that did make it much easier to put this on the chop saw.

The withdrawals can be a trying time. Take it one day at a time, be strong, keep busy.

I bought a nice piece of wood today. What do you all think of a tri lam with bamboo back and belly, belly toasted very dark and a padauk core?

I finally got a start on what might end up as my swap bow. I planed some bamboo and tapered a piece of padauk and I also glued up a riser blank using some nice black limba.
I would have toasted some bamboo, but my blowtorch malfunctioned when I loaded a new butane cartridge into it. It wouldn't seal against the cartridge and all the gas escaped.
I'm hoping to get it ready for glue tomorrow.
Dave.

I'm just waiting on my victim's address to ship.  One of you didn't send all your address in.  Don't you want your bow?

Riser glued up and out of the oven today. I've got high hopes of a bow coming out of the oven soon.

Sounds awesome. Paduak will look really cool running the length of the limb. I think the toasted bamboo is a surprisingly nice belly material. The bow you made for me uses it wonderfully. My only thought would be to consider a tapering of the core to maximize the amount of the limb sharing the work.
