I tapered the padauk core from 1/4" to about 3/32" at the tips. I also made up a pair of tip wedges to make sure the tips don't end up too whippy.
The only thing I'm not 100% happy with is the black limba riser. When I work that wood, it smells like cat pee.    :(
I just have to tweak the riser some more and it'll be ready for glue up.

Checking in.

Just received the last of the supplies that I have been waiting for.

Once I combine one of those slats with the Osage from Troy I think I'll have a great combination.

I'll be starting the trade bow in about a month or so.

Should I ask if you have cats? maybe it used to smell like catnip!

Can't wait to see what you turn up.
On a side note, I've been wanting to get last years swap bow out and hunt, but this last season led to zero bow kills and very little hunting time. Turkey season is soon though.

Ben, the only cat in this house is a piece of gut in an old fashioned weather instrument.
I hope you get your bird. Send me a picture when you do. None of my bows have drawn blood yet, so yours might be the first. I leave for turkey camp 5 weeks from today and I can hardly wait.

Still haven't got a proper address for my victim, though it's not Kelly's fault.  He gave me what he had, but one of you didn't give a street address...

No progress here. I haven't even touched my swap bow in several weeks. Was on vacation for spring break and got sick, and while I was out my crews weren't able to make progress because of bad weather so I've been busting my hump trying to catch up. I know I know, excuses are like butt holes, everybody's got one and they all stink!
So, $@ :) /83&#%  I'll be back to work on your bow asap!!

Gonna have to try the thunderbird someday. Ive heard nothing but good things about it. Waiting for finish to cure is hard for me though, and ive heard that thunderbird takes a long time.
That being said, I would still like to try it.
Waiting for my trade bow to show up is painful too!
 More pics people. LOL.

I thought last years swap was completed. I'm sorry to hear this. Is there any kind of resolution in the works or what is going on here?

My trade bow is pretty much done and I will be shipping it out in about a week or when Kelly gives me the go ahead to ship. In the mean time I thought I would tease yall with some photo's of the bow.
The woods I used are Black Palm, Redheart, and Bocote in the riser. The core wood is Sugarberry with Black and White Ebony Veneers.

Oh and I think I will leave the full draw pics to be posted by my victim.    :goldtooth:
