I built two bows and both are too heavy. I guess I'll just have to keep them.    ;)
I'll be starting another one in a few days. I've been trying to hit the required draw weight and still have a snappy shooter.

I wish my kids would tell me where my camera is. I goofed up on the trilam I was playing with, boo/yew/Osage. came out 72@28 after trapping and narrowing the limbs. way over my poor victims specs. guess I'll keep it for moose/squirrels and start another.

seems a bunch of us are coming out heavy this year.

That's a hell of a squirrel bow! Your squirrels must have some tough skin compared to the ones we have here...

Great looking bows there!
I was in the same boat as Big Bob, we are having some problems getting good glass here. Got the wood coming in now, I'll be using some hard to get and rather unique Australian timbers for my victim. Just hope it all turns out as planned.

Same glass issue here too.  Thinking about just going with black or brown, but I'd really like something nicer with some pretty veneers under clear.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a better "clear" glass?  I know Fujimo was working on some but haven't heard how that was going.  I'd really just like a few pairs of a clear "clear" glass -- is that too much to ask?

After some injuries and other hassles it's finally time to get started. This week i got some very nice riser blocks from Terry Dunn. I think I will use a blood wood/osage combo with some osage lams.

That's going to look nice Andy!! Here's mine at a 5" brace height- it's starting to look like a bow- not a lot of detail in the picture though...

Well don't know if this is my,trad bow or not but either way I think it needs some heat

Blood wood and hedge should look good together.

Looking good so far true

Looks like a nice combo Andy.

Kelly, I think you're right, a little heat will be needed for that one.

I had a change of plans since mine didnt make weight.  Got a new one all tillered out to the desired weight.  Now all I have to do is cut it in half and socket it back together.

Pics to follow

My daughter got my last pair of clear glass strips. Sorry, but she trumps my poor swap victim. Hopefully I'll make it up to them though. Using dark brown on the back and light brown on the belly. I think it will look ok. Should still shoot alright and that's what really counts.

This is a bow I am just finishing.  The clear .043 2" ULS glass is Gordons and was purchased from Binghams 3/5/2015.  As you can see it is perfect in every respect.  I can't believe reputable dealers would send you crappy glass on purpose or would not correct the problem if they inadvertantly did.

Putting on the last few coats of finish on my swap bow and it will be ready to ship. Also got to use my new hobby of leather working on the grip! I'll try and put some pics up soon.
