Got the bow glued up last night.  Have to work nights all weekend so I won't get to work on it till Monday, but here she is, boogers and all

My supervisor stopped in to check my progress    :)

Looking good

I will try and get a list of foks wh need to ship by the end of the month.

I put some heat on the osage bow to get the tips lined up a bit more. So while it rehydrates I am working on a hickory pyrmid bow. I am scrapping away on it.

I think I need to get my bur a bit better on my scraper. It is not getting the nice wide ribbons up right now. Just them narrow ones.

I will get the spreedsheet updated with the new data on those who have shipped and those who have received.

Seems slow but steady this year.

Sorry, the weekend got away from me. Inside the tube was a beautiful bamboo and osage bow. But even though I paid the deposit for this bow over two years ago, I was quite disappointed that it wasn't my swap bow. Apparently I was looking forward to the swap bow more. Guess I'll wait a bit longer.

That said, progress is happening in the bow shop again. I cut out the profiles for the current set of bows:

Realizing I could use a bit of help to get back on schedule, I now have a helper cutting sight windows:

We finished one bow and put a temporary coat of rattle can lacquer on to shoot it in with:

So, the moral is that one of the remaining four is for my swap recipient and should be shootable in the very near future. Stay tuned.

My son and I finally got our shop put back together after our home remodel project..

All of our materials were waiting for us to get busy, and we made a lot of progress over the weekend on our swap bow..

Looking Good So Far...

We decided to make a laminated riser on this bow, using old parts and pieces we could sweep up..

That resembled a riser, so we figured it could really be turned into a bow..

Veneers were skived and joined on this handy jig..

Ready for the Smooth On..

Everything fit on the dry run, so we glued it up, and into the form.

And we wait...

The Bow Blank came out looking good.. So Far So Good..

Fades are nice and sharp..

More later..  we need to add a few ingredients to the recipe..

Ugh.  One more day of the "real" job, then I get to finish up the trade bow.  I managed to get boogers cleaned off and limbs profiled the other day, but that's about it.  Between weeding the garden and playing with kids, time got away from me.  But I'm ready for string nocks and maybe some trapping to get weight down a bit, then handle shaping and sanding.  Should be ready for finish by Monday!  Man, why does this year seem to be taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r!    :banghead:
