what ever the date, I am going to be late as I still have no usable clear glass, and absolutely need it to do my swap bow justice. As i mentioned before in an earlier post I have had the riser lams and veneers done for about 2 months at least as still no joy.Even if I can fulfil my order it's still minimum of 2 weeks to get it here then another week or two to get the bow done. If I wasn't a peaceful sort of guy I could be getting fairly irate by now [lol]   :knothead:    :knothead:

Where are you getting it from Bob?  I have some decent stuff I can send you if you need.  It'll probably still take a week or so to get it to you, but if I can help I will!

Mike,

You can find the dates and other rules in the thread that you signed up in. Type "2015 swap" into the search function and you'll land right on it. Or find it here:  http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=125;t=012397#000000

But because I'm the benevolent type, here is the original verbiage to remind everyone:

Got 3 coats of buffalo hide gloss on my swap. 2 more coats of satin and it'll be ready to go north. Or was it south? Maybe it was east! If not then I guess it'll have to go west!   :dunno:

Finally got the limbs profiled and on a string.  Had to trap the back and sand the limbs to drop weight.  Somewhere mis-calculated and ended up about 10# too heavy       I'm still about 3-4# heavier than requested.  I hope it comes off during final sanding.  If not, would you mind getting a bow a little heavier?

I just got the overlays glued on.  Working on another bow while I'm waiting on glue to dry.

Wouldn't bother me.

Finally get to make some more progress on my trade bow this weekend, been slammed with work. The t/d handles are set and the limbs line up nice, time to make it bend now.

Ok guys, I got home today and went straight to the shop to put on a final coat of satin on my swap bow. I took it out in the sun to look it over and man this thing looks good!! (To me at least) Then I started wondering if my recipient would like it just like it is or would like some satin on it? I personally like a coat or 2 of satin on my bows because I hunt with them.  So I'll post a couple pics and see how they respond so I'll know wich way to go.
Going to have a black beaver tail handle wrap.
If my victim likes it the way it is I'll put one more final coat of gloss. If left up to me I'll put 1 coat of satin. What say you victim? ( excuse the finger prints! )

A gloss finish is nice, but I would opt for a satin finish because I would be taking that beauty hunting.
