One of these is for my swap recipient.

I plan to spray the four on the right this week and should be ready to ship next week.

Got two coats of gloss on the trade bow.  Kinda got distracted today with the bandsaw, so that's all I've got for now.  Have you ever had to perform open heart surgery on a 60 year old bandsaw?  Me either, until today.  Thankfully, the patient seems to be recovering well.  I wish I wasn't too cheap to just buy a new one.

Craig,  Sorry to say your bow is not from me.  Don't know who deserves the credit for your nice bow.

My swap bow will be shipped tomorrow.  It is going south and west from my current location...haha  That doesn't take much when you live in Maine!

Well, I just came to the realization yesterday that I had improperly scaled the weight of my swap bow and it is 8# under requested weight, not 3 or 5 as I had thought.
Still holds 1" of reflex when rested and a hair under 1/2" reflex just unstrung, shoots well, hand shock isn't too bad. It's just under weight by a good margin.
It's currently 65" (string is 62"), so I'm considering piking the bow by 2"+ to try to get the weight up, not sure what else to do. I think am added belly lam will need to be too thin. The bow has been drawn to 2" past the intended draw, so I think it will be fine piked.
I may just need to start another .... I don't know.
Any other thoughts?

If it's for me, I'm fine with lower weight.

If you're happy with it, finish her up.  If you're wanting to make yourself aim higher and make up the weight, then knock a little off the tips.  I'm sure most guys on here are not as concerned with draw weight as they are with just getting a cool new bow!

Blob, very nice work!. I like the stringing grooves. Always wanted to try that on one, never have gotten to it.

Thanks Ben.  I typically string my bows with the push/pull method, but always include stringing grooves for ease of use.

Everyone keep a lookout...UPS tracking says it will arrive Wednesday July 1st.

As a newbie to this swap bow thing I'm supposed to be shipped by the end of this month but I had similar problems to Bigbob2 with glass and such. But all going well I should be able to ship next week only a few days late, sorry #$%#$% but it is coming and as I only had 1 set of glass that is usable whatever weight it is, is what it will be as I can't make new limbs. No matter the weight it will look great and I hope you will like it.

We had to shoot our Swap bow a little before we send it off. This thing rocks..  I know our excipient is going to love this longbow..  We made up a correctly spined WOOD arrow for it, and put it through the chronograph.
Drawn to 28" @ 9.5gpp, we get a consistent 192 fps + finger released.!   Maybe that's not the whole story on bow performance, but it confirms our impression.

For a beginner bowyer, that gives us pride and confidence in our design..!

Who Wants it ?!?
I do!  We start building another, immediately!
